Jill McArton R.A.D, I.S.T.D.

Director - Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Stretch, Kinder

Jill McArton has been an active member of the Dance, Baton and Cheerleading community for over 30 years. Jill has studied Jazz, Tap, Ballet and baton twirling in Ottawa, Toronto, New York, and Calgary.

Jill is currently the co-owner and artistic director of Planet Dance Inc. and is a full member of the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.). Her students continue to be granted Highly Commended and Distinction marks in their ballet examinations, which are assessed by International Examiners. Jill is also a certified member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D.).

Throughout the 20 years that Jill has spent as a National and International competitor, she has been awarded with many titles and championship honors. Jill was crowned Miss Majorette of Canada for 8 years; she was awarded a full scholarship to the University of Boston; and was a Grand World Champion for 6 consecutive years. Jill was also awarded the highest score achiever in the professional category at the American dance championships.

Jill has also performed for live and studio audiences on many occasions including such merits as the Dini Petty Show and the CFL Awards Show. During her years in Toronto majoring in Dance at Ryerson University, Jill was a Toronto Argonaut Cheerleader and attended dance classes regularly throughout the community. When Jill returned to Ottawa, she continued to perform for the CFL as an Ottawa Rough Riders Cheerleader.

Jill has taught and choreographed for Ottawa and Toronto area dance studios. Her students and choreography have received many outstanding credits at National and International events.
