Natalie Charron, Director

Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Musical Theatre, Stretch, Kinder, Pre-dance

Natalie has been an active member of the Ottawa dance community for over 25 years. She has studied Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Baton twirling, and gymnastics in Ottawa, Toronto, and New York. Natalie is currently the co-owner and artistic director of Planet Dance Inc.

Natalie competed across Canada and the United States, winning several group and individual awards. She was the only Canadian to place in the top 10 senior soloist category at the Showstopper National Dance Championships in Boston, Massachusetts. Natalie has performed for live and studio audiences for over 20 years. She danced and twirled in the 1988 Grey Cup halftime show and was a regular on the Ottawa based TV show, Homegrown Café where she won the finals.

Her talents have won her many awards including most outstanding dancer, cash and study scholarships from various Canadian and American dance competitions, highest score achieved of the entire competition, World Champion Jazz dancer and baton twirler at the America’s Youth on Parade World Championships in South Bend Indiana, and many more.

Natalie has been teaching dance for over 15 years at professional studios, community centers, the City of Ottawa / Nepean and for various school boards. Natalie successfully passed dance exams with Canadian Masters of Dance while she was heavily involved in a competitive dance program. As a teacher, her students have also successfully passed their dance exams with the ADAPT syllabus. Her choreography has won many awards in Canada and the US including Top Overall Line, overall soloist, and excellence in Jazz Choreography. Natalie has also choreographed for such events as The SuperEx, Canada Day festivities, and Winterlude.

Natalie’s educational business background is in Business Administration with a major in Marketing.
