Nicola Henry is presently continuing her training in the Professional Contemporary Dance Program at the School of Dance. She returned to Ottawa after training at The University of Calgary in Contemporary Dance. She also studied dance at various studios for over sixteen years and began teaching at studios and community centres in the Ottawa area eight years ago. Nicola successfully completed Royal Academy of Dancing Ballet exams, as well as Brian Foley ADAPT Jazz and Tap exams. After attending Canterbury High School, Nicola graduated with a Fine Arts Certificate in Dance with Distinction, along with receiving the Modern Dance Award for three consecutive years. She performed in and choreographed for Canterbury High School's annual 'Dance Night', a showcase of student and guest choreography. Nicola was also co-choreographer for Canterbury High School's musical 'The Boyfriend'. Nicola competed at numerous competitions in Canada and the United States where she won many First Place, Platinum and Gold Awards for solos, duets, trios, and group numbers in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, and musical Theatre.
